What a Week!

  • Watching:
  • Chocolate:

Monday, worked 9-6 straight, no lunch.  Short handed at the office.  No big deal.  Tuesday was a normal day.  Wednesday got off early because my mom is out of town and wanted to make sure I was at the bus stop to get the kids, some bullies are starting to come out of the woodwork.  Bullies tend to keep quiet when adults are around.  But I got their names and can now call the school.  Spent Wednesday afternoon arguing with the kids about homework and snacks.  Grandma lets us have snacks and we don't do homework til just before you get home.  So we argued.  When I finally get it thru Emma's head that grandma and I talk that I know what their after school schedule is like did she be quiet and sit down.  Once they realized mommy is still boss homework was done in under half an hour and snack was cut down from all the cookies left to one cookie each with part of an apple and juice.

MOM - 1
KIDS - 0

I get supper started, feed Harley his dinner, and get grandma headed towards the table when Emma decided she is going to have a coke with supper.  I look at her and say 'excuse me'.  "I want a coke and I am going to have one, how are YOU going to stop me".  All I have to do is start walking towards her and she squeals and puts the coke back and gets her milk.  Ethan tries the same thing except with him I get a fit and tears and screams, his pill has worn off.  So we get the coke put up, the tears dried and his fit is gone and he gets milk, must be chocolate milk.  Yes, I allow my children to drink sodas.  But only Friday night supper time to Sunday afternoon.  The rest of the times it is milk, juice, water, sometimes Koolaid.

MOM - 2
KIDS - 0

We all eat supper, grandma goes to bed, kids shower and go to bed without any incident, Harley throws his fuit puffs at Muffin, not to her but at her.  Little booger won't crawl or try to crawl but he loves to throw things.  Mainly food, at the dogs.  He just sneezes his food at me.

Thursday we all get up and get out the door, I am flustered because Scott won't get out of bed.  He doesn't feel good.  His stomach hurts.  I say ok stay there, I will take the kids to the bus stop and Harley to meet your mom.  I am not mad or annoyed with him.  I can tell by the way he is laying that he isn't fibbing or trying to annoy me.  I run thru the house turning off lights and go back to our bedroom and Scott is standing there in green sweats, a red t-shirt and sandals.  MY christmas tree.  So he takes the kids and I take Harley and get to work on time.  WOOHOO!  I get off early again to meet the kids and Emma gets in the car "LET'S GO! I HAVE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM!!!"  Ethan takes his own sweet time getting in the car and Emma bounces up and down all the way home.  She makes it to the bathroom and Ethan ambles in the house and as I am heading to the other bathroom he pushes me out of the way, runs in to the bathroom and locks the door.  I sit right there until he comes out and block his way to the snacks.  I look at him and ask "why did you push me?"  "I had to pee."  "What should you have done?"  "UMM I don't know"  "ok, next time you say excuse me"  He said ok and pushed by me to get to the kitchen.

Scott's mom shows up with Harley and we discuss todays schedule.  She leaves and then grandma starts complaining she doesn't feel good.  Which I already knew.  She hadn't eaten much, even with me sitting by her.  She was gray around the mouth.  But she wouldn't tell me what hurt or where she felt the worst.  So I called a neighbor, who is a nurse in the OR at our hospital and used to do home health care.  We have been neighbors for years.  Hillary showed up and grandma of course told her everything that hurt.  So we waited until Scott got home from work and took her to the Immediate Care Center.  She has a stomach virus and that's about it.  Maybe a UTI.  So we have a follow up appointment with our family doctor today.  We are at ICC for 3 hours.  We get home and I have to talk grandma into eating supper.  Get that down her and she sleeps all night, probably for the first time in weeks.  A couple nights ago Scott found her wandering around the house looking for mom.  She kept asking what we did with her, where we hid her, and why we hid her.  SO MUCH FUN!!!

Scott already has the kids in bed, except for Harley.  I feed him his bottle and put him to bed and clean up the kitchen a little and start to eat my supper and Harley wakes up.  And stays awake until almost midnight.  Oh well, no school for the kids so I can sleep in a little.

This morning was ok, I slept a little too late so was still rushed getting out the door.  Got grandma to the doctors and found not UTI, stomach sounds were already better, but blood pressure was thru the roof.  The doctor upped her blood pressure meds just a litte, pulled me aside and side since she is so old and has alzheimers that is about all we are going to do.  Take her home and unless she starts throwing up or getting terrible headaches let her live.  Grandma did tell us last night, during the 3 hour stint at ICC, that she was ready to go home.  I didn't get it at first and told her not until she sees the doctor.  Grandma said no, I mean home.  I am ready to see my husband.  My grandpa died in 1969.  So, now we just make her happy until it is time for her to go Home.

i would like a really long nap right now
