You would think that with all that has gone on in the past month that Scott and I would want to stay home and get some rest. You would think that we would just give in and cancel everything for one night and get the kids to bed early and relax and go to bed early. Did we? NO. We are certainly gluttons for punishment.
Wednesday night is bowling night. Emma also has soccer practice. So, instead of calling her coach and telling them Emma needs a night off because of everything (they would understand, I have kept them up to date on all that has happened) and calling our bowling partners and telling them we won't be there this week, Scott took Emma to soccer practice until I got off work and I met them at the soccer fields and we all went to bowling together.
We are either die hard bowlers and soccer parents or we are just stupid! Bowling was fun and I am actually glad we went. The kids had homework to do so we sat them down at our table and made them work on their math and spelling while we bowled. Before I knew it there was a crowd around the table helping both kids with their math.
I tried to help but when I do help them I get so frustrated. I don't know why. I think I get frustrated with Emma because she knows the stuff she is doing but she acts like she doesn't so she can get more attention. She did one math page last night and when I checked it almost every problem was wrong. I erased the whole page and sat down with her, and held up bowling, to make sure she got them right and understood what she was doing. It was then that I realized she knew what she was doing. As soon as I sat down she flew through the page and had it done in under 3 minutes. She knows exactly what she is doing. When she was done she looked up at me and grinned. I told the terd to hurry up and finish the rest of her math correctly and finish her spelling words so she can go play.
Ethan is another story. Someone has to sit by him at all times during homework to help keep him on track. He had so many people trying to show him so many different that he was so confused. One of our bowling partners finally shooed everyone away and she took it upon herself to sit down and help him when I had to bowl. When I came back to the table she shooed me away and said they were fine, go away.
During all this poor Harley just sat in his stroller looking around wondering why he wasn't receiveing all the attention he normally does. Poor little guy is just so neglected you know. HA
