Granny couldn't keep the stuff down that you have to drink for a colonoscopy. She tried to drink it but kept throwing it up. They even went so far as to put a tube down her throat and pour it down that way. She threw up around the tube.
They took the colonoscopy off her list of tests. Her stomach is so bloated and distended that she is miserable. The last thing they are going to do is an x-ray of her stomach. Mom agreed to it only because it is non-invasive.
Mom had a conference with all of her doctors and all agreed that since she is just getting worse, so much worse, instead of better that it is time to just remove all the anit-biotics she is on, remove the IV fluid but leave the IV in just for pain medication.
The doctors said that once everything is removed she might last a week, at the most.
I took the kids to see her last night so they could have a chance to say goodbye. Ethan was off in his own little world as normal so he just jabbered away to her, making things up as he went. Emma said hi and then sat on the bed with her for a while. I put Harley on the bed up by her head and granny just patted his leg. She recognized Emma but not the other two. She just kept saying what cute boys I had with me.
Emma was sad when we left but didn't cry. She also knows that granny might not be coming home.
I think I am going to start studying for my new supervision course I have to get done in a month.
